Viva Las Vegas!
Article Abstract:
Las Vegas, Nevada, has changed to become a city devoted to entertainment rather than solely to gambling. The city attracts up to 35 million visitors per year and average lengths of stay have increased to 4.2 days. Many of the new venues of the 1990s, including Treasure Island and Luxor, focussed on family entertainment, but a later trend is towards themed entertainment complexes and resorts. There are themed retail centres, 3D film experiences, and a $70 million SpaceQuest casino and Star Trek experience which includes a ride into the future.
