Pacific Rim and Asian food is becoming very popular in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Included is recipes for sushi salad, grilled kasu salmon, homemade udon noodles, Hugh Carpenter's spicy shrimp, two-ginger golden ice, and steamed salmon in paper.

Rhubarb is very plentiful in Alaska and can be used in a variety of ways. Included are recipes for rhubarb sorbet, halibut fillets in rhubarb and horseradish crust, spring rhubarb punch, rhubarb fruit leather, and rhubarb and pineapple conserve.
