Second is best

Article Abstract:

Chiang Mai, Thailand, has the country's most population after Bangkok, but there is a striking difference between the cities. Although Bangkok holds 7 mil people, Chiang Mai has only 200,000. The latter has managed to preserve the atmosphere of an overgrown village. As center of the country's handicrafts industry, with quaint wooden houses and ancient temples, it is one of Thailand's most loved tourist destinations. Unfortunately, its environment is changing fast, and its unregulated development may yet turn it into another Bangkok, and there is concern that attempts to preserve the historic sites are too few and too late.
