CROSSROADS AT THE PUEBLO
Article Abstract:
The Pueblo Indians of New Mexico initially met the western world and the Roman Catholic Church in 1598. Catholicism is still strong within this community though the Pueblo religions are pantheistic and incorporate a sacred view of nature. It is thought that the attempted suppression of native religions has resulted in the endurance of the beliefs.
