Consolidator airline tickets will often be cheaper than the regular airlines, but the advertised prices may not always be available. The larger airlines occasionally offer discounted special fares that approach those of the consolidators.

US airports sock passengers
Article Abstract:
A number of US airports have applied to the Department of Transportation for permission to charge a head tax on passengers. The current passenger facility charges of $1-3 per passenger are used for specific airport improvements.
