The issue of gun control is still very much debated on in radio talk shows because this shows cater to a wide range of audiences unlike elite format media such as the New York Times. Ordinary people can listen and send in their pro-gun or anti-gun opinions by just calling in.

The National Rifle Association has introduced a new computer communications system known as 'Gun Talk' BBS (bulletin board system). With the use of a telephone modem, subscribers can avail themselves of important developments on issues concerning gun control and legislation.
