Article Abstract:

Europe is home to a special kind of hotel which possess an individual character not found in a chain and which have often been converted from the former homes of aristocrats. A selection of ten of these hotels are described and details of where to find more information are given.

Europe has some of the finest outdoor restaurants where excellent foods are served. France has La Fournaise and Chez Gegene, both alongside the River Seine, where superb cuisine can be found. England and Italy have The Oxo Tower and the Villa d'Este, respectively.
