Charles Blair MacDonald, the Chicago golf pioneer, is credited of introducing golf to the Midwest, devising the art of golf course architecture and building the Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, which is ranked one of the best courses in the world. The Chicago Golf Club will host the 2005 Walker Cup matches that will be played by the best amateurs in the United States against those from Great Britain and Ireland.
