The enthusiasm behind deer hunting is discussed and the gun .444 Marlin that is used for hunting is detailed. The .444 Marlin can push a 240-gr. bullet to a muzzle velocity of 2350 f.p.s, the only problem being its use of 1:38" twist rate in barrels.

The .22 Hornet is one of the old cartridges that is based on the older blackpowder .22 WCF cartridge, but uses smokeless powder instead. The .22 Hornet was developed in the 1920s at Springfield Armory.
