Article Abstract:

Tourists who scuba dive in waters with coral reefs often do damage to the reefs without realizing it. When they touch the reef, they can tear it and kill the little animals that live in it. They also kick up sand, which can harm the coral. Tips for divers on how not to damage the reefs are given.

Seal watching adventure: once hunted with clubs, Canada's harp seal pups now attract travelers' affections

Access to the Magdalen Islands is now available to tourists in early March to see the Canadian whitecoat harp seal. The access is also a way for the island's inhabitants to earn money since they quit hunting the seals in 1987 due to pressure from environmental groups.
