Politicians in Australia and the UK used guile and deceit to lull political opposition to their stringent gun control laws. The assurances of politicians effectively delayed any political action by gun owners in the respective countries, which could also happen to US gun owners.

BATF again registering guns

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms may be moving towards creating a central firearms registration system. This would be a violation of the bureau's funding restrictions as mandated by Congress.
