The Marine Fish Conservation Network is leading the move for strengthening the Marine Fisheries Act to rebuild fish stocks by requiring fish conservation measures. The political changes that the Network faces are discussed.

Fish have not attracted the public's attention as wildlife needing protection. Ways conservationists can bring marine ecology preservation, and fishery law, to greater public awareness are analyzed.

Just say no to Pacific longlines

The Pacific Fishery Management Council hopes to preserve highly migratory species from the toll of gillnet bycatch, by allowing longlines. This is the wrong path to sustainability.
