Article Abstract:
Oklahoma has established the Coordinating Council for Allied Health Careers to recruit students for health occupation programs in response to the need for more health care professionals. Recruitment activities include school visits especially to intermediate grades, health career brochures aimed at sixth- to eight-grade students, a mentoring summer program, a health care faire and MASH (Medical Application of Science to Health) camps sponsored by the Area Health Education Centers. The council will also develop scholarships for promising students.
