Plants that are easy to grow, require no exotic manure, or special soil or middle-of-the night watering and yet make the garden bloom, like the perennials and shrubs, which come for years. A list of plants along with their botanical and common name are given, which are available at local nurseries like hostas for shade, daylilies for sun, and Agastache (anise hyssop).

The homeowners' need for privacy in their gardens without feeling locked in jail or fortress are solved by the professionals using fence, plants or both, and long hedges as a screening option. A fountain, a Japanese maple, an arbor or a water jar can be used to decorate and improve the view of the elements of utility like a pole or car in the garden.

Where is home?

Article Abstract:

Linda Greider discusses how she and her husband raised their children in Washington and lived in a much-loved house, worked and made friends for more than 30 years. They plan to keep working forever so that they can sustain the old farmhouse build of oak above Iowa's Lake Okoboji which belonged to her mother and grandparents.
