The root of the ouster of St. Alban School headmaster Rev Mark Mullin seems more to have resulted from his unpopularity with powerful alumni serving at the school's board of directors. Mullins considered himself doing his duties as headmaster when he leveled several dispciplinary actions against the sons of these alumni.

A history of the performances of the Washington Redskins football team is presented. They have recruited some new players, LaVar Arrington, Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith to help revive the team's poor defensive record for the 2000 season. The Washington Redskins have not played in the Super Bowl since 1991.

The Republican-dominated Congress has threatened to make major budget cuts on numerous government services. A discussion of some of the approaches lobbyists will most likely take to protect their interests from the budget reductions is presented.
