Employment giant under scrutiny
Article Abstract:
The Department of Trade and Industry is examining the circumstances surrounding Blue Arrow PLC's 25 million pounds sterling loan to developer Peter de Savary and Chainrock Corporation NV. The official investigation has been prompted by Blue Arrow's letter to shareholders explaining the loan's status, and de Savary's newspaper advertisement criticizing Blue Arrow's response. Blue Arrow senior management has relieved Tony Berry as the company's executive because he issued the 25 million pounds sterling loan without proper board authorization. In response, de Savary released a newspaper advertisement intended to inform shareholders of facts that were omitted from Blue Arrow's letter.
