Article Abstract:
The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in Indian Shores, FL, is the largest wild bird sanctuary in the US. Over 6,000 injured birds are treated there each year. The sanctuary also permanently houses between 500 and 700 birds that were so severely injured that they will never be returned to the wild.

Antebellum masterwork: visit an unusual Old South mansion at Mississippi's Waverley Plantation
Article Abstract:
Waverley Plantation was built in 1852. Its Greek Revival design, by charles Pond, features natural cooling through a central octagonal top-floor cupola. It is reputedly haunted by the ghost of little girl, who calls 'mama' and leaves impressions on bedspreads.
