The necessity to hunt and the need for protection from the hostile native culture made firearms a crucial component in America's settlement and expansion, and American women were no strangers to their use, manufacture and repair. Historian Clayton Cramer has compiled data on the subject of pre-Civil War arms, the analysis of which is helping to construct a picture of women and firearms.

Handloading for handguns... what makes 'em shoot?

The handloading of ammunition that can bring the last possible bit of accuracy from a particular firearm is discussed. It is the loading procedure and consistency that tends to have an impact on accuracy.
