Cultural and heritage tourism: identifying niches for international travelers
Article Abstract:
International tourism can be enhanced through attractions that focus on a region's culture or heritage. These attractions have appeal to distinct demographic traveler segments such as young backpackers, visitors of friends and relatives, family resort tourists and middle-age family vacationers. Culture and heritage attractions can include archaeological sites and artifacts, and focus on enrichment rather than escape.
