Article Abstract:

Young menhaden congregate in dense schools as they leave shallow estuaries for more open water. Peanuts average about an inch long and fall prey to almost everything that swims off shores. Several ways to find peanuts are presented.

The dropper fly is a good choice when fishing for surface-feeding during Northeastern summers. The small fly mimics the tiny baitfish that the bass are feeding on.
