Winfrey was renowned among media journalists early in her career for her accessibility and frank, friendly interviews. Numerous instances of unfavorable portrayals in the media, much of it unfounded, have resulted in Winfrey and her production company, Harpo, requiring employees to sign confidentiality agreements. Winfrey has also reduced her exposure through media outlets she does not control to a minimum.
