The wizard of Wales

Article Abstract:

Architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis began building in the village of Potmeirion, Wales, in 1926 and by the time he died in 1978 he had transformed the town. He tried to recreate a Mediterranean hamlet and filled the town with archways, cupolas and other Italianate features.

Artist Christo has received permission to wrap the German Reichstag building in polypropylene cloth. The $7 million project will begin from Jun. 17-23, 1995 and will be open to the public for the succeeding two weeks.
