Co-ordinate measurements
Article Abstract:
Co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs) are used extensively to make accurate dimensional measurements in manufacturing, and there are over 3000 in use in the UK. CMM's can measure simple geometrical elements, as well as complex inter-relationships between geometrical elements. Co-ordinate metrology performance is measured under BS 6808 national standard and an international standared specification will soon be published in the form of ISO/DIS 10360. This will mean acceptance tests to verify performance, reverification tests and interim checks
