Carolyn B. Elman, chief executive officer of American Business Women's Association feels that just like people live longer by building relationship and connecting with other people, an organization like ABWA too will live longer if it can develop a wider network. In this context, importance of social activities like coming to aid of Hurricane Katrina's victims and use of technology like cell phones for communicating are also discussed.

Building a learning culture
Article Abstract:
The American Business Women's Association (ABWA) is committed to helping businesswomen advance their learning skills and their general competence in their chosen field of business. ABWA members can encourage a learning culture in their respective organizations by being passionate about learning, by encouraging risk, by reinventing the concept of chapter education and making education a major thrust of meetings.
