Article Abstract:
Christoph Ransmayr's book "Morbus Kitahara" defies characterization as a holocaust novel. Instead, the book stands as a monument to the fractured, blurry vision of the author. Ransmayr experiences and projects the blind spots of the progressive eye disease referred to by the book title. Conflicting chronologies and events further disorient the reader.
