A feeling in search of memory
Article Abstract:
Victims of traumatic experiences such as sexual abuse and emotional incest often promote false memories to cover up such incidents. Majority of these victims cannot recall being exposed to sexual molestation or sexual abuse because their memory of the incidents has been suppressed unconsciously. However, psychotherapists can help these victims reclaim their potential for work, pleasure and relationship by helping overcome the psychological barriers caused by such experiences.
