A million women and more: women of color, all women are "doing it for ourselves."

Article Abstract:

Women in the US have made another strong statement for their rights with the success of the Million Woman March, which was held at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, PA. Despite the fact that the event had minimal funding, it was attended by close to one million participants coming from various racial and ethnic roots. The march highlighted the need for women to fight for their rights, particularly those relating to health, political and professional advancement issues.
