The class war waged in America's supermarket where middle-income Americans buy cheap, high quality fruits and vegetables while millions of poor people do not get a decent vegetable is reported. Large supermarket chains have opened stores in the suburbs where residents have deeper pockets and the produce that finds its way to these grocers is generally of poor quality and is sold at a higher prices than in wealthier areas leading to an epidemic of obesity among the inner-city poor.

The new asthma epidemic

In the past 20 years two thirds of the 14 million adults have asthma, with women outnumbering men. According to a report in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a new study found that significantly more women with near-fatal attacks are hospitalized on the first day of their period than on any other day even after medication to manage the symptoms a week before menstruation.
