Expectant mothers should learn all they can about Cesarean section, a procedure that is performed on almost a million pregnant women yearly. With women knowing what to expect from a C-section, the baby's birth becomes more fulfilling. The physical and emotional aspects of C-section are discussed.

Both the mother's and the father's lifestyle can affect the health of the fetus. Men can reduce the risk of birth defects by avoiding alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and industrial solvents while their wives or partners are trying to conceive.
