Flo Jo: in for the long run

Olympic sprinter Florence Griffith-Joyner is training to compete in the marathon in the 1996 Olympics. She plans to increase her training runs to 100 miles a week and to eventually run a marathon in the 2:20s.

Barefoot in the park

Article Abstract:

Running without shoes strengthens the small muscles of the feet and lower legs to give a more powerful push-off to each step. Training barefoot can also be used to help runners lengthen their stride.
