An eye for business

Article Abstract:

Fay Gaul established Agatha's Search, a private investigation firm, in 1994 after serving the state of California for 28 years. Gaul was a parole agent for nine years, worked in the rehabilitation department for 17 years and another two years in employee development. Agatha's Search specializes in child custody cases, with clients that include individuals, attorneys and other private investigators. Gaul credits the American Business Women's Assn. for helping her develop a positive mindset on starting a business.

Retired women executives can volunteer their experience and skills to small business owners through the Small Business Administration's Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE). Likewise, active women executives can do their share of helping out small business througH SCORE's Active Corps of Executives program. Aside from the satisfaction of being able to share their expertise with small business owners, women executives are also able to hone their skills while serving as SCORE volunteers.

Floyd owns Eskualdun Publishers Ltd. and is a member of the American Business Women's Assn.'s Me Ta Kola Chapter. Her books are 'Caretakers: The Forgotten People,' 'Platitudes: You Are Not Me,' 'Don't Shoot: My Life is Valuable' and 'Stolen Years: In My Little Corner of the World.'
