The tremendous advances in reproductive technology cannot guarantee pregnancy at any age. The chances of older women to get pregnant are markedly reduced because of impaired egg viability. Technology has its limits and it cannot deliver babies on demand.

More women suffer from cardiovascular diseases and strokes than men in Canada. These diseases occur as a response to varying levels of estrogen in women at menopause and can be complicated by high blood pressure, smoking, high lipid levels and diabetes.
