An optimal regulation in an intertemporal oligopoly market: the Generalized Incremental Surplus Subsidy (GISS) scheme
Article Abstract:
The Generalized Incremental Surplus Subsidy (ISS) scheme is proposed as a means of regulating an intertemporal oligopoly market 'to behave in the social interest.' The non-Bayesian approach, which was designed for cases when the regulator has no information about the regulated firm's technology and cost structures, is a generalized version of the ISS model proposed by D. Sappington and D. Sibley in 1988 as well as J.C. Kim and K.B. Chang's extension of the 1979 Loeb-Magat model.
