Belly buttons: the last body taboo

Article Abstract:

Belly-button exposure was considered a taboo until the onset of the 1960s. Belly-button showing can be either an act of rebellion, a self-compensation move or an attention-getting scheme. 'Innies' and 'outies' are discussed.
