Beyond Prozac
Article Abstract:
The entry of the antidepressant drug Prozac in the Canadian market in 1989 improved treatment for depression. Prozac, a relatively safer drug, had fewer side effects than its predecessors. New selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor drugs are being developed to improve on the success of Prozac.

Studies on the etiology of headaches are providing new ways to overcome the pain during an attack. They suggest that headaches are caused by the interactions between nerves, blood vessels and body chemistry, and that the best strategy to deal with them is to avoid the trigger for the pain.

Estrogen forever?
Article Abstract:
Estrogen supplements are often prescribed to women for a large part of their adult lives. It starts with birth control pills, and then after menopause, hormone replacement therapy. The health risks posed by a life-long exposure to estrogen are discussed.
