Bush signs law granting personhood to Fetuses
Article Abstract:
American President, George W. Bush signed another deceptive legislation known as the Unborn Victims of Violence Act (UVVA) on April 1 2004. The law establishes a fetus or embryo as a separate victim in federal crimes from the moment of conception and the sponsors of the law claim that this law will provide protection to pregnant women form abuse and even death.

Radical right ignores courts on marriage rights, attempts to write discrimination into U.S. Constitution
Article Abstract:
Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled on November 18,2003 that same-sex couples and opposite-sex couples are entitled to equal marriage rights. This ruling allows same-sex couples to visit each other in the hospital, make important health care and financial decisions for one another, file joint state tax returns and receive other state protections.

Struggle for equal marriage heats up across the U.S
Article Abstract:
The stance adopted by the different States in America with regard to same-sex marriages in 2004 is reported. Oregon is the first state in the nation where a judge recognized the legal validity of a marriage license to a same sex couple and later in San Francisco, hundreds of same sex couples were issued licenses.
