Only 5% of the decision-making positions in professional sports were held by women in 1989. Women are beginning to break into management positions due to their knowledge, experience, networking and contacts. Aspiring managers should investigate internships and promote contacts with other women.

A general massage relaxes, a sports massage invigorates. There are four kinds of sports massage: clinical massage, which identifies problems; pre-event massage for competition preparation; post-event massage for recovery; and intercompetition massage for competition breaks.
