The East German women's swim team won most of the medals during the 1976 Summer Olympics, but there is now evidence that all the East German medal winners were taking banned steroids. US swimmers Shirley Babashoff and Wendy Boglioli want the Olympic Committee to strip the team of the medals.

A model for success: teaming girls with athletic mentors proves to be a winning idea

Ann Kletz founded SportsBridge in 1995, to help adolescent and teenage girls by pairing them with women athletes who serve as mentors. The program tries to motivate girls to stay involved in sports and also provides tutoring. Mentors come from colleges or the corporate world.
