An article in the Feb 8, 1995, New York Times intimated that pasta could be fattening and should be avoided by overweight, insulin-resistant people. The article is controversial, and others say that being overweight itself is the problem, not the consumption of pasta.

It is generally agreed that food is the best source of vitamins and minerals, but many people simply do not get enough complete nutrition from their food and would benefit from vitamin and mineral supplements. The choice of proper supplements is discussed.
