Dr. Atkins maintained that his diet was safe, regardless of weight. One can do the maintenance phase of the diet even if one is not terribly overweight. The Atkins diet may be easier to stick with initially because it allows a lot of protein, which creates a feeling of fullness faster than carbohydrates.

Confessions of an Atkins wife

The mental condition of a wife when she finds out that her husband has lost thirty pounds due to Atkins diet and has further developed his already nice biceps is described. The insecurity of losing her husband has forced her to rejoin the health club and take efforts to look more attractive.
