Metabolism can be boosted by means of strength training, cardio and nutritional changes. Four women have boosted their metabolism by doing strength training, interval-intense cardio workouts, strength and cardio and a diet slightly higher in protein, in which the combination of strength and cardio showed a 61 percent increase in the base metabolism rate.
