Embracing a dream

Article Abstract:

Businesswoman Jo Lindberg successfully founded the Hugs for Health Foundation in Tustin, CA which specializes in providing amusement in nursing homes. Lindberg, who worked in customer service and telemarketing before starting the foundation, dresses up as a mascot named "Cuddles the Huggy Bear", and gives hugs to elderly patients to lift their spirits. She has also started the National Hug Holiday Week in the second week of June and the Hug Patrol Network which provides long-term care services to the aged.

A modern-day Cinderella

Article Abstract:

Businesswoman Danon Miller has successfully managed a wedding coordination and bridal services firm through the skills she learned as a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). Ms. Miller, a seven-year member of the Daytona Beach Area Chapter of the ABWA, believes that she would still be working as a rank and file employee without the help the association. She credits ABWA for teaching her how to dress smartly and for expanding her business networks.

Mrs. Litt, who writes a monthly newspaper column about creative living, is also a business consultant and workshop leader. Her joining the Coral Springs Chapter of the American Business Women's Organization has enabled her to increase her networks, meet other entrepreneurs, and sharpen her business skills.
