Communicating with commuting students: how Kennesaw State's career center attracts student interest in its services

Article Abstract:

Campuses with commuting students find it hard to get them interested in the services offered by the careers centres. Kennesaw State University (KSU) designed an Internet web site which students can use to book interviews, write resumes, look for employer information or jobs. The Careers Center is available at KSU from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. to accommodate evening students as well as day students. Students can also see staff at the weekend if they request it. Liaison between careers and colleges is vital so that careers staff know what is going on.
