Fair game: Title IX twenty-fifth anniversary

Article Abstract:

In 1997, 25 years after the act's passage, women are still suing schools because of inequities. Discussed is the impact of the 1996 Equity Disclosure Act, continued resistance to fund cuts for football and other high profile programs, problems that hamper compliance, and forecasts about the future.

Not your mother's hiking boot

17 hiking boots for women were tested at Skylonda Resort which specializes in its hiking program. All of the brands tested had good features but the Rockport Antero, the Raichle Pinnacle II, the Asolo Cygnus, the Ridge Outdoor Nepal and Jansport Lava were favorites. Prices run from $120 - $169.

The backbone of sports: by paying attention to oft-neglected muscles, you can increase power and improve balance

Article Abstract:

Athletes frequently neglect to develop their back muscles and this can lead to imbalances in strength and flexibility. The three back exercises presented are: negative chin ups, overhead pull-overs and one-armed rows.
