Young children enjoy exploring new activities and have difficulty maintaining interest in activities over a period of time. Children should be encouraged to pursue an activity in which they demonstrate interest. Parents should not have high expectations for the achievements of young children.

Article Abstract:

Parents should take their children's development level into consideration when deciding whether they should participate in their first sleepover. Children can have fun, even if they are a little homesick. Parents may have to take home a child who cannot be comforted.
