Friends for the road

Article Abstract:

Elderhostel of Boston is a nonprofit organization that provides adults and retirees short-term academic programs through its affiliations with educational establishments around the globe. The organization provides group travel programs in each US state and Canadian province as well as to about 70 foreign countries. The association, which was established in 1975, has a network of about 300,000 participants in more than 2,300 institutions in such places as New England, Portugal, and Gibraltar.

Th members of the National Board of Directors of the American Business Women's Assn. examine four trends that are expected to influence their management of the association in 1997. These trends are the desire of business women to belong to a group, to make more personal statements, to return to the past to be anchored in the future, and for a new set of business and societal values that are more caring and familial.
