Article Abstract:
Planning and intervention in battering cases involving older women should logically differ from that for cases involving younger women. Permanent institutional placement is a relatively unwise course of action in most cases of battering of old women. Yet, it is a tragedy that many shelters are not accessible to old women. Thus, a major dilemma in the nation's society remains, which is the provision of appropriate, accessible services to older women who are victims of domestic violence.
