Gender, religion, and correctional orientations among a sample of juvenile justice personnel
Article Abstract:
Issues are discussed regarding the effect of gender and religion, particularly Christian fundamentalism, on the attitudes and possibly decision making of juvenile justice personnel. The differences between female and male correctional personnel are also discussed. The results indicate that both gender and belief in biblical literalness may affect retributive and diversionary attitudes.
