George W. Bush: only as good as his word?

Article Abstract:

A critique is presented on promises made by Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush for the 2000 elections, based on data compiled from his years as the governor of Texas. Topics include the increase of capital punishment executions and a rise in child mortality due to neglect and abuse, despite Bush's advocacy of social compassion.

An envolving concept of equality benefits us all

The World March of Women reminded world politicians of statements in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights that guarantee equality for all. In the United States, the National Organization of Women hopes to renew a drive for the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution.
