Getting the squeeze: the ins and ouches of a mammogram

Article Abstract:

Mammograms are often painful and very emotional experiences for many women. Since the diagnostic process includes compressing or squeezing the breasts to get the best image of breast tissue, pain grows more acute for women with particularly sensitive breasts. However, the pain does not compare to the countless benefits that mammograms offer.

Women can take a number of steps to preserve their fertility. These include finding the right birth control, becoming aware of signs of potential physical problems and practicing safe sex. Tips on getting pregnant are discussed.
